Percy & Reed Volumising Shampoo and Conditioner

My hunt for luscious, bouncy, voluminous hair is never ending. I thought I’d hit the jackpot recently with a purchase from my local Headmasters salon where I picked up a Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner in their voluminising range. How wrong I was! The range weighed my hair down, made it greasy quicker and overall was a very poor performance from a leading salon brand. I expected so much more from Paul Mitchell and was dubious that any other salon/higher end hair care brands would do the trick.

I was even more dubious about the Percy & Reed range. After a less then desirable experience with their dry shampoo (which the less said about that the better!) I had honestly written off the entire range. I know they had a freebie a few issues back with Glamour which my mum still raves about but I was still on the fence about the rest of their products. This was until I tried out the above two beauties. The Bountifully Bouncy Volumising Shampoo* (£14) and Bountifully Bouncy Volumising Conditioner* (£16) have well and truly changed my mind and got me wanting to try more.

These two products contain blackcurrent extract to give your hair a deep condition whilst leaving it with more body. There is also pro vitamin B5 thrown into the mix too to help strengthen your hair too. I always double shampoo my hair (once to clean the hair and once to get a lather) and then condition the ends. Unless my hair is feeling dry or needs a really good clean I try to limit the conditioner to the tips to prevent my hair from being weighed down. I have been using both these products for a fair few weeks now as I really wanted to test them out and also try them with my different volumising products and sprays. What I found was that even without the help of my beloved Philip Kingsley Maximiser (review here) or my L’Oreal Professional Techniart Volume Moose (review here) the shampoo and conditioner left my hair soft, bouncy and yes ladies and gentleman…voluminious! I was pretty darn impressed and also that the fact that my hair had life and volume whilst being very soft and shiny. There were a fair few flyaways still pestering around but that can be quickly forgiven.

So far I have found these products very impressive and has want me to forgo by bad dry shampoo experience and delve into other products by the brand! I can see myself having these added to my rebuy list as soon as they run out! Have you tried out Percy & Reed products before? What are you favourites?
